Public Transportation

Public transport in Wrocław allows you to reach all interesting places throughout the city. Its dense network covers more than 1200 km, also outside the city due to public transportation serviced by MPK (Municipal Transport Company), covering the area of metropolis and its surroundings. The public transportation is in service 7 days a week and 24 hours a day – thanks to a network of night lines. A high emphasis is put on environmental protection issues and on providing the fast and comfortable journey.

A network of Wrocław public transportation consists of 22 tram lines and 83 bus lines (including 15 night lines). Passengers can enjoy a modern fleet of trams and buses, meeting the standards of a modern dynamic metropolis.

Every year MPK travels about 35 000 000 km across the city having about 25 000 000 passengers. This is all due to work of 768 bus drivers and 568 tram drivers equipped with 213 buses and 225 trams. Year by year the amount of vehicles of public transport is rising in brand new trams and buses to make journey across the city fast and comfortable.

Depending on the length of stay – single, daily, weekend, time tickets, 30- and 90- days tickets are available in ticket machines (can be found in every tram and bus!), kiosks and stores all around the city and even on the mobile phone

Railway Information (PKP)

Wrocław is easily accessible by train both from domestic and international destinations. Regular train links connect Wrocław with Berlin and Dresden. Also a wide variety of European destinations is available within just one transfer, allowing a smooth travel between Wrocław and cities such as: Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Lvov, Kiev, Moscow, Ystad, Bratislava, Vienna, Amsterdam, Budapest, Munchen, Basel, Innsbruck, Minsk, Kaliningrad, Vilnius, Koln and Paris.

Wrocław is also easily accessible from a wide range of domestic destinations, offering connections to all major Polish cities. PKP Intercity offers new EIC Premium (Pendolino) train connection between Warsaw and Tricity, Kraków, Katowice and Wrocław. Travel on the route Wroclaw - Warsaw will take maximum 4 hours.

Wrocław Airport

The Wrocław Copernicus International Airport is located in the south-west part of the city, 10 kilometers away from the city center, near the motorway bypass which can be reached quickly and comfortable. Both from the Warsaw side of the S8 road, Poznań from the national road no. 5, and from the south of the national road no. 8 and the A4 motorway. A regular shuttle bus no. 106 connects the airport with the city center and main railway station. In addition, there is the Kiss & Fly zone - free ride and a short drive up to 10 minutes and over 2000 parking spaces.

Wrocław offers good air connections with major European transfer hubs such as: Frankfurt am Main, London, Munich and Copenhagen. Moreover, passengers can easily reach over 18 destinations in countries around the world by transferring only once within less than 2 hours and 30 minutes.

In addition to traditional airlines such as LOT, Lufthansa and SAS, the airport also serves low cost carriers (Ryanair, Wizzair) as well as charter airlines. From Wrocław Airport you can fly to 64 destinations in Europe and North Africa.

Wrocław Airport was awarded for the fourth time the Statuette of the Best Regional Airport in Poland by The Business Traveler Awards. In 2017 Airport will launch new additional connections to Palermo, Naples, Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford, Oslo Torp, Gdańsk, Brussels Charleroi and Tel Aviv - these flights for the 2017/2018 winter season will appear in the Wrocław Airport flight schedule and from May 31 every Wednesday and Sunday we will be able to fly to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland.
